COVID-19 Safety

Safety at PHM 2022

SHM, AAP, and the APA look forward to reuniting with you in an environment that is safe and comfortable for all attendees. The health and safety of our attendees, staff, and the pediatric communities we serve is of the utmost importance. We are monitoring and adhering to the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will continue to coordinate with Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts to uphold proper safety precautions. For the latest COVID-19 details at Walt Disney World® Resorts, Theme Parks, and other offerings, please see the experience updates.

We are so excited to gather in-person for the first time in two years, and we ask that you continue to keep your well-being, as well as the health of your family and community, in mind as you make decisions around following best practices.

Vaccination Requirements

PHM 2022 attendees, speakers, and partners must be vaccinated against COVID-19. We strongly encourage staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, which includes a booster for many people.
More information regarding frequently asked questions about vaccines can be found here.

Testing

The CDC recommends testing before and after travel, and advises that you test yourself if any of the following are true for you:

Test Yourself If…

Timing

You have any COVID-19 symptoms

Immediately

You were exposed to someone with COVID-19

At least 5 days after your exposure

If you test negative for COVID-19, consider testing again 1 to 2 days after your first test.

You are going to an indoor event or gathering

Immediately before the gathering, or as close to the time of the event as possible.

This is especially important before gathering with individuals at risk of severe disease, older adults, those who are immunocompromised, or people who are not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, including children who cannot get vaccinated yet.

Travel

While masks are no longer required on public transportation or at transportation hubs, the CDC continues to recommend that masks are worn in indoor public transportation settings.
Take precautions when you travel by following the CDC’s recommendations for domestic and international travel.

Masking Requirements

Wear a Mask to Protect Yourself and Others
Attendees, speakers, and partners must be masked within the PHM 2022 conference space unless eating or drinking.

  • Masking is a critical public health tool and it is important to remember that any mask is better than no mask.
  • Wear the most protective mask you can that fits well and that you will wear consistently.
  • Wearing a well-fitted mask along with vaccination, self-testing, and physical distancing helps protect you and others by reducing the chance of spreading COVID-19.
